Attention Poland Water Association, (PWA), Customers:
Due to rising operating costs, the Poland Water Association requested a water rate study from the Louisiana Rural Water Association authority to evaluate the financial stability of the Poland Water System. It was determined that the current PWA water rates do not produce adequate revenue for the sustainability of our water system.
To meet the financial stability requirements of the Poland Water System, the Poland Water Association must increase its rates.
Beginning May 2024, your water bill will reflect the new rates for water consumption.
The NEW base rate for Residential customers will be $28.00, which includes the first 1,000 gallons, and $8.00 for each additional 1000 gallons consumed.
The NEW base rate for Commercial customers will be $48.00, which includes the first 1,000 gallons, and $8.00 for each additional 1,000 gallons consumed.
Therefore, there will be an increase in your monthly water bill. We have taken great pride in keeping our water rates as low as possible while providing quality service. Make no mistake, this increase is absolutely necessary to continue the water service in the Poland Community.
In the very near future, the Poland Water Association will be embarking on a direct water connection with the City of Alexandria and approved by the USDA Rural Development. This will provide enhanced water service to the community and a more secure supply for fire protection as well as future expansions.
